Sunlight Psychotherapy - Alliston
Hi, I’m Emily Duggan, a psychotherapist dedicated to helping individuals and families embrace their strengths and navigate challenges. With extensive experience supporting clients with ADHD, I understand the complexities of living in a fast-paced, overwhelming world.
As a neurodivergent individual, I bring personal insight into ADHD’s struggles and potential. My approach is tailored to each client, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with a strengths-based perspective. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, practical tools, and self-compassion while addressing challenges like procrastination, emotional regulation, and organization.
I understand how ADHD impacts all areas of life, from relationships to self-esteem and daily responsibilities. That’s why I create a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences and develop strategies that work for them—whether it’s creating routines, improving focus, or advocating for their needs.
My experience supporting neurodivergent family members has shaped my understanding of family dynamics and the importance of fostering growth within relationships. This perspective helps me connect with clients and families to promote harmony and balance.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy hockey, reading, gardening, and spending time with my dog. These passions keep me grounded and reflect my belief in finding joy in everyday moments.

I also offer support for couples in conflict, with a special focus on ADHD-impacted relationships. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to seek help—let’s start now.

With a background shaped by diverse experiences—growing up in a lower socio-economic household, navigating grief, and supporting individuals with life-limiting illnesses—I bring a nuanced understanding of how social justice issues affect health. As someone with ADHD and additional training in ADHD and Autism therapy, I offer lived insight to better support neurodivergent clients.
I’m available for in-person sessions in Hamilton or virtual appointments across Ontario. Let’s connect and begin your journey toward growth and healing.
